Getting ready for Christmas means a lot of things – it means getting the Christmas shopping out of the way, it means organising what you are going to do during this time but it also means getting your home ready for Christmas. One of the many great things about Christmas is how you can make it your own.
From the New Home Christmas Ornaments you got to the ones you have had for years you can turn your whole house into a scene from one of those magical Christmas movies. You can of course buy all the decorations but it can also be fun to make them yourself.
You can do this either by yourself or with the kids to give them something to help with. How about getting them to make their own stockings?
Making a Christmas stocking is very easy. The first thing to do is buy a nice red velvety fabric and some white fluff. You can cut the fabric into the right shape and then leave the rest to the kids. For younger kids glue can be used to fashion the stocking and for older kids a blunt needle and thread.
After the kids have formed the actual stocking they can stick on the white fluff and decorate the rest of the stocking with their personal style. They'll have a stocking that is all their own.
